The Aasha Foundation provides comprehensive social, recreational and educational enrichment support for 35 girls residing at a shelter home for girls in Mumbai, India.

Our programs integrate our girls with broader Mumbai society and provide the girls with the same kinds of experiences as their middle-class peers.

Thanks to Aasha Foundation funding and project management, the girls attend private schools, speak English, have excellent computer skills, and enjoy a range of activities including basketball, yoga, science workshops, and singing class to name a few.

The children are on a track to attend university and pursue professional careers and independent, productive lives. In fact, the eldest 8 students are now young women attending university and living in college dorms, with their college educations funded by Aasha.
